We’ve been invited to collaborate with screen artist/scholar Dr Anna MacDonald and Marilyn Clarke Head Librarian at the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies on a new project .

Dr MacDonald specialises in working with the public in participatory and embodied research. Her work funded by Wellcome, Arts Council England and AHRC has generated interdisciplinary findings in the fields of Health, Science and Law.

Marilyn Clarke is an expert in the decolonisation of library collections. She is one of the few black and brown library leaders in the UK

This summer we will be working with Anna and Marilyn to produce a film exploring the potential for change and movement in the collection. Public engagement events including screenings of the finished film are being scheduled for later in the year.

In 2023 we documented initial workshops at the library led by Anna. These workshops were with people from the library team who responded to an open call.

The library is sited at Charles Clore House. Originally designed by Denys Hasdun (1976) the building was renovated by Burwell Architects in 2022.
